Solidarity: Brushboo begins donation of PLA visors for toilets
Since 2017, when
Brushboo
was born, our idea and guideline was clear: Reduce the use of single-use plastics to help the planet and encourage responsible consumption. In our product prototyping process before sending to production we make sure that the design of our product is the best so that when it reaches your hands the touch and usability are perfect. That’s why we started working with the help of our 3D printer.

In the moment we have been going through during the last month, we could only continue to help as much as possible. This time, we wanted to make the most of our material and take advantage of the 3D printing technology we use. We got down to work and began to to manufacture protective visors for healthcare facilities.
Contributing our grain of sand
At the moment we have about 50 visors made of PLA and acetate that we have donated to a hospital in Madrid. In this way, we provide an extra measure of protection to health sector workers, who are the most exposed today to Covid19 and are the ones that need the most reinforcement in terms of protection. These visors are being used as an additional means of protection to protect them from contagion.
We continue to print more visors, contribute and lend a hand wherever we can!
On the other hand, we are collaborating with our factories and suppliers in Asia to accelerate the supply of PPE for hospitals and other facilities. Any help is not enough.
3D Printing: A useful tool with a great reach
3D printing is a tool that allows us to go from idea to reality in a matter of minutes. When we are developing a new product, our design team gets to work and soon we have in physical format the first piece of what will later be our toothbrush, dental floss jar or thermos bottle. First we think about the product, then we design it on the computer, print it and test it.
To produce the prototypes of Brushboo products, we chose to do it with PLA. Have you heard of it? PLA is Polylactic Acid. It is a plastic-type material that is biodegradable and comes from corn or potato waste. In fact, printing with PLA smells like candy all over the office. 🙂
Solidarity is our weapon against the pandemic
It should be emphasized that we are in the midst of a health crisis that is affecting us worldwide. Our daily routine has been paralyzed and affected. But it is our duty to help where we can. We saw an opportunity to support healthcare workers. At the same time, we continue to work for you, giving you the eco alternative that our environment needs and, in this way, we continue to provide work to our collaborators under the prevention and protection measures required by the government and the WHO.
These are difficult times, but we have hope that we will get out of this!
A special thanks to these heroes. Applause!
