SEDISA is committed to maintaining and managing an effective chain of custody for its Brushboo products. Our goal is to ensure that all labeled products meet forestry sustainability standards and are produced in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner.
Legal and Regulatory Compliance: SEDISA is committed to complying with all applicable local and international laws and regulations related to the chain of custody and sustainable management of forest resources.
Management Responsibility: SEDISA's senior management is committed to establishing and maintaining an effective chain of custody system, providing the necessary resources and appropriate training to ensure compliance.
Chain of Custody Management:
Identification of Material Sources: SEDISA will ensure that all forest materials used in the production of our products come from certified sources or are purchased from suppliers that meet chain of custody requirements.
Tracking
Inventory: SEDISA will maintain an accurate record of the volumes of material used in production and will ensure that these materials are kept separate from non-certified materials at all times.
Labeling Control: All products that meet chain of custody standards will be appropriately labeled and accompanied by the necessary information to inform consumers of their sustainable origin.
Supplier Evaluation: SEDISA will carry out periodic evaluations of its suppliers to ensure that they comply with chain of custody standards. Corrective measures will be taken in case of non-compliance.
SEDISA is not directly or indirectly involved in the following activities.
Illegal logging or trade in illegal timber or forest products.
Violation of traditional and human rights in forestry operations;
Destruction of high conservation values in forestry operations;
Significant conversion of forests to plantations or other uses;
Introduction of genetically modified organisms in forestry operations;
Violation of any of the ILO Fundamental Conventions, as defined in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, 1998.
Likewise, SEDISA applies the corresponding labor requirements and therefore:
It does not use child labor and does not employ workers under 16 years of age. Furthermore, no person under 18 years of age is employed in dangerous or heavy work.
It does not practice any form of forced or compulsory labor. Employment relationships are voluntary and based on mutual consent, without the threat of punishment.
It does not discriminate in employment and occupation.
Respect freedom of association and the effective right to collective bargaining.
It also makes available all the material and human resources that are necessary to meet these set goals.
