Now that we can take the time to do a more thorough cleaning of our home, we must take care of certain details that we are ignoring: the pollution generated by certain chemicals found in cleaning products, both for us and for the environment.
You only need water, lemons, white vinegar that you can find in the kitchen and a glass jar that you have at home and you were thinking of throwing away. Reuse! Clean the jar, dry it. Next, cut the lemon into slices and pour it into the jar leaving a finger of space before reaching the top. Then, pour in the vinegar until the lemons are covered. Cover the bottle and let it stand for 3 to 4 weeks. After the time, pour the contents into a spray bottle that you have at home (remember, recycle) and pour the same amount of water and you’re done.
The degreasing, antioxidant and disinfectant properties of lemon combined with those of vinegar, which absorbs odors, cuts grease and removes dirt, is the perfect combination for use in kitchens and bathrooms.
It is an excellent way to save money. In addition, our tableware will not be in direct contact with chemicals. You only need: 3 lemons, 2 glasses of water, 200 gr. of coarse salt, 1 glass of white vinegar, ¼ glass of rinse aid and a glass jar or a container that you have stopped using. Just mix thoroughly and use. Watch out! That it is for manual use only.
These products pass from the field to distributors and finally to us. In this supply chain, we do not know how these raw products have been treated and that, on many occasions, we consume them directly. To ensure good cleaning:
Fill a bowl or tap with warm water and add one tablespoon of baking soda (per liter of water), one tablespoon of vinegar and let it soak for a few minutes. Next, we use a
toothbrush
(previously disinfected in a saucepan with boiling water and a few drops of lemon juice for 5 minutes). We brush each fruit and vegetable, removing the wax. Rinse with clean water.
General disinfectant for sinks, toilets and showers.With the help of a sponge or brush that we no longer use (previously disinfected with boiling water and lemon in a saucepan) we scrub the spaces with dirt. In an old (recycled) jar, pour 1 tablespoon of baking soda per quart of warm water.
For the toilet, add 3 tablespoons of white vinegar to the mixture. Rinse with water.
Simply add 3 liters of warm water mixed with 1 glass of vinegar to the mop bucket. It is a sufficient disinfectant for floors in general.
It has been proven that cell phones aresources of germs and that we use them approximately 100 times a day. We are at risk of infection, especially from the coronavirus, which could remain on it. For this reason, we recommend using a cotton cloth (it can be an old T-shirt that we cut into pieces). In addition, in an empty bottle that you no longer use, pour 60% water and 40% alcohol that you can find at home. It is recommended to clean the cell phone after returning from the street or after having been in contact with other people.
It prevents our clothes from being damaged by so much chemical use and is very effective. We need a piece of neutral coconut soap, 2 lemons and 4 tablespoons of ammonia (biodegradable).
Melt the soap in 1 liter of warm water (you can grate or chop it previously). Then, we add 5 liters of cold water. Lemon juice is added to the mixture and, finally, ammonia is poured (carefully, preferably using gloves). Mix. Store in old laundry detergent bottles. Let’s reuse! We will have 6 liters of detergent with satisfactory results.
With these little tricks, you’re sure to have plenty of time to occupy. The important thing is to do it conscientiously, as this way we will be protecting the environment and our family.
