Next March 20 will be celebrated, as every year, the Oral Health Day .
Do you also panic about going to the dentist? It’s quite normal! Many people experience fear when they have to visit these professionals, either out of embarrassment or because they are afraid of being in pain. It is important to visit a dentist’s office and have checkups when you detect that something is wrong, but if you want to maintain healthy teeth it is imperative that you are consistent in a dental care routine.
How do you maintain proper dental hygiene? Washing them at least three times a day, after each meal. What about dental floss? It is also important to use it every day, as this can fight gum disease and tooth decay.
Just as it is essential to be consistent in this routine, it is equally important to use quality products. That’s why, at Brushboo we produce
brushes designed together with professional dentists
that won’t harm your gums and teeth.
Therefore, it doesn’t matter if you prefer
manual toothbrushes
or electric toothbrushes , the most important thing is that you perform a correct toothbrushing routine. For this reason, we will give you some tips when brushing your teeth.
- Add a small amount of toothpaste to the toothbrush and give equal attention to all teeth when brushing. It is important that the brush fits you and cleans you well. The ECOSONIC has different cleaning modes and sonic vibration. Up to 45,000 vibrations per minute.
- For brushing the outer surfaces of the upper teeth. Place the brush perpendicular to the tooth and slightly inclined towards the gum. Make several circular movements without exerting pressure so that the bristles of the toothbrush reach both teeth and gums.
- Once we have finished with the outer faces, we will wash the inner faces. Ideally, you should start at the back of the mouth and make small circular movements, using only the front part of the toothbrush. When you reach the fangs, make a sweeping motion using the entire brush.
- To brush the upper molar faces, make horizontal sweeping movements. This movement is the one that poses the least problems, since it is the one we do naturally when brushing our teeth.
- After brushing the upper teeth, we move on to the lower teeth. The technique to be used is exactly the same as explained above, placing the toothbrush perpendicular to the tooth in the same order as for the upper teeth: outer, inner and, finally, the molars.
Now you know the best way to brush your teeth in order to prevent cavities from forming. Likewise, it is essential to know how to use dental floss correctly.
- Take about 45 cm of floss and wrap most of it around the ring finger, leaving 3 to 5 cm of floss to work with.
- Hold the floss taut between thumbs and index fingers, and gently slide it up and down between the teeth.
- Gently curve the floss around the base of each tooth, making sure it goes under the gum.
- Use sections of clean floss as you move from tooth to tooth.
- To remove the floss, use the same back and forth motion, pulling it up and away from the teeth.
It is essential that you take into account the amount of water you use when brushing your teeth. Turning off the faucet while doing so is one of the easiest ways to save water. By the way, did you know that next March 22nd is World Water Day? This is an essential resource for life and is not enjoyed by 1 out of every 3 people in the world.
