We know that with spring and the good weather we would all like to spend the day outdoors, but the reality is that, for the moment, we have to put up with these restrictions a little longer to finally be able to enjoy a good summer!
For this reason, we would like to present you with an alternative plan. In this blog we propose three recommendations of documentaries that you have to watch during these days and two delicious recipes to accompany them!

Seaspiracy: Unsustainable Fishing
Fresh from the oven! Produced by the same team that published Cowspiracy in 2014, it denounces fishing as the greatest threat to marine life. The documentary addresses issues such as unintentional catches in trawl fisheries.Birds, fish and other marine species that are caught as bycatch along with the intended fish and account for 40% of the world’s fish that are wasted – although they are thrown back into the sea, their survival rate is low – and are not counted in the statistics. It also uncovers one of the major pollutants of the seas: fishing nets .
Cowspiracy
If you haven’t seen it yet, you have to. This documentary film explores the impact of livestock farming on the environment and investigates the policies of different environmental organizations in this regard. Among the organizations investigated in the documentary are Greenpeace, Sierra Club, Surfrider Foundation, and Rainforest Action Network.
David Attenborough, ‘A Life on our Planet’.
It is the scientist and explorer‘s first documentary on Netflix. With it, he wants to warn about the consequences of climate change. Throughout the feature film alternating the life of this researcher and some of the milestones of his career, while denouncing the current situation. A situation that, in David’s own words, “will lead to a new global extinction before 2100”.
And if there is something that can not miss accompanying these documentaries are snacks, so we give you two delicious recipes to make your bridge simply fantastic.
A classic! Popcorn in its healthy version.
Ingredients:
- 70 g popcorn corn kernels
- 30 ml of olive oil
- Salt to taste
Cover the bottom of a large frying pan with the oil and heat it until it is very hot. Pour in the corn kernels and let them form a single layer. Cover the frying pan leaving a small hole. for the steam to escape.
When the first popcorn starts to pop, lower the temperature to a medium level and wait until you stop hearing them being made. Turn off the heat and carefully uncover. Remember that steam also burns!
And if popcorn doesn’t taste like popcorn to you… try this recipe for crunchy chickpeas. You will love them!
You need:
- Boiled chickpeas (as many as you want, depending on how hungry you are ????)
- Spices (you can use cumin, sweet paprika, thyme, white pepper and pepper)
- Olive oil
And how are they made? Toss the chickpeas with your favorite spices, spread them well on the baking sheet covered with parchment paper – remember that this paper is thrown away in the blue container, without food residues. You can also use silicone sheets, as these can be washed and reused. ♻️
Bake the chickpeas for 30 minutes at 200 ºC. It can be a perfect snack to take to the office in a glass jar.
