Small gestures add up and, in something as important as environmental protection, each one of them is vital.. A new year begins, it is time for good wishes and resolutions to be fulfilled in the next twelve months. What better way to top the list than with the firm will to contribute to the care of the planet.
It is enough to change some daily habits and put a little effort. It’s as simple as that. And it is also essential because these gestures are part of the legacy we will leave to future generations.. So why not make a short list of good resolutions to take care of the planet?
1. Goodbye plastic!
The battle against the use of those plastics that do so much harm to the environment begins at home. Actions as simple as using bamboo toothbrushes in our personal hygiene has much more impact than we can sometimes imagine. To get an idea, only 160 million brushes are manufactured in Spain every year, the vast majority of which are made of plastic, and many end up on the seabed.and many end up on the seabed.
In personal hygiene or in everyday life, replacing plastic objects with others made of natural and reusable materials is not at all complicated. Just by rejecting the packaging that surrounds us, we will be contributing to a great extent to the care of the planet.
2. Natural hygiene and cleaning products, always!
We use them all the time, but we do not always realize the threat that certain products pose to our environment.. Toothpastes with microplastics, cosmetic and personal hygiene products with bactericidal agents toxic to flora and fauna or chemicals of all kinds. Each of them is a frontal attack on the environment.
A good New Year’s resolution is to read the ingredients of those products we use every day, from toothpaste to facial creams, and opt for those of natural origin. opt for those of natural origin. The benefit is twofold: on the one hand, they respect the environment and, on the other hand, they are less aggressive for the organism.
And exactly the same can be applied to these other household products. Going back to those homemade soaps that were used for everything, to vinegar or baking soda to disinfect is a gesture that also adds to the effort to protect the planet.
3. Much more than a small gesture
We’ve all done it at one time or another: brush our teeth and leave the faucet running or turn on all the lights. we find on our way to just cross a corridor. When they become habits, what we are doing is wasting a scarce commodity such as water or consuming energy without any sense.
Another good resolution is to be very conscious of the environmental consequences of these bad habits. to put a definitive end to them. It costs nothing to do it, but if you are one of the most absent-minded, opt for a more radical solution: put motion-detecting faucets and lights at home.
4. Recycle and reuse
Eradicating this “throwaway” mentality is complicated, but it is essential to try. You only have to stop and think for a moment to realize that many of those objects and items that we throw away can have a second life.. And, if not possible, we should at least make an effort to recycle, because nowadays almost everything is recyclable in one way or another.
5. Lead by example
If you assume and internalize these small gestures, you will be able to transmit them to your children and those around you naturally. Becoming an example is the best way to teach that caring for our planet is everyone’s job. and that every action, no matter how small, is important.
At Brushboo we help you to achieve those good resolutions. for the new year. Our products are made with sustainability criteria, using natural raw materials and plastic-free packaging. Because your effort to protect the environment is also ours.
